Welcome to Money Smart Marriage!  I’m JW, a thirty-something (OK, I’m 31) husband and father of two wonderful kids.  My wife and I have been married for over ten years, and we’ve had our share of financial ups and downs.

What To Expect

I’ve been writing for the web for nearly two years now, and I have found that the most successful sites tend to focus on a rather tight niche.  At great risk of violating that standard, I plan to discuss a few different topics here at Money Smart Marriage, but they will all have one thing in common–money and relationships.

Over half of marriages in North America end in divorce, and many of those end because of money fights.  Both my wife and I are products of a broken home, and it is our hope that by chronicling a few of our mistakes along the way (and ways to solve them), we can help a few other couples out there reach their ten year anniversary. 

Since I have a couple other projects I’m working on, in addition to my full time job, expect a lighter posting schedule here than you may be used to at other sites.  Hopefully that translates to more high-quality posts, but I’ll let you be the judge of that.  I will try to put up at least three weekly posts (sometimes more) and one weekend post, usually a “round up” post of sorts where I share some great reads around the blogging community.
